About

Hello, I'm Simone! I am a multi-disciplinary fine artist and academic researcher specialising in printmaking, watercolour painting, filmmaking and nature photography. 

Based on the beautiful Garden Route in South Africa, I am currently undertaking a PhD in Fine Art.

My Phd research topic is "Tranquility: Mindfulness and mind-wandering in, and as, creative practice" using a practice-based research methodology.

Details about the phenomenological site-specific event "Tranquility" I hosted at the space between, Plettenberg bay, the series of creative artefacts and thesis-as-creative artefact will be shared early 2026. 

In addition, I am  establishing my printmaking studio "Blue Lotus Studios" alongside a new range of floral fine art prints, which will be launching in 2025 and uploaded on social media and this website.
