Limited edition fine art prints — launching 2026 ✨
Hello, I’m Simone — an artist-researcher and multidisciplinary fine artist based on South Africa’s Garden Route.
Rooted in nature and the elements, my work moves across printmaking, film, installation, and photography, creating contemplative artworks that invite slower, more embodied ways of seeing and being. I’ve been using art and music as a way to transmute emotion into something meaningful, restorative, and life-giving since I was a little girl. I believe everyone is creative — we just have to remember.
I’m currently completing a PhD in Fine Art titled Tranquility: Mindfulness and mindwandering in, and as, creative practice. Through a practice-based, phenomenological approach, I explore how attention drifts and returns — and how these subtle shifts shape what we make, how we feel, and how we live.
In 2026, I’ll be releasing the completed PhD submission, including documentation of Tranquility — a site-responsive event hosted at The Space Between in Plettenberg Bay — alongside a curated series of creative artefacts and a thesis-as-creative-artefact.
Alongside the PhD, I’m building Blue Lotus Studio — a home-based, flower-filled studio where family life and nature are part of the creative rhythm. The vision for Blue Lotus brings together printmaking and pottery, alongside everything botanical and floral — including small-batch beeswax candle making from an outdoor kitchen studio set amongst flowers. I grow and forage many of the flowers I print with, letting them become both material and symbol within the work.
My signature offering is fine art printmaking, with limited edition releases and nature-rooted floral works. New print works will be uploaded here soon, along with studio updates as the collection comes to life.
