Limited edition fine art prints — launching 2026 ✨
Hello, I’m Simone — an artist-researcher and multidisciplinary fine artist based on the Garden Route, South Africa.
Rooted in nature, the elements, and contemplative making, my work moves across printmaking, film, installation, and photography. Through these forms, I create artworks that invite slower, more embodied ways of seeing, feeling, and being.
Since childhood, art and music have been ways for me to transmute emotion into something meaningful, restorative, and alive. That impulse remains central to my practice today. I believe creativity is deeply human — something many of us are not lacking, but simply trying to remember.
I am currently completing a PhD in Fine Art titled Tranquility: Mindfulness and mindwandering in, and as, creative practice. Emerging from both personal and artistic urgency, the project explores how creative practice can help us return to attention in a world shaped by speed, distraction, and overstimulation. Through a practice-based and phenomenological approach, I explore how attention drifts and returns, and how these subtle shifts shape what we make, how we feel, and how we live.
The research includes Tranquility, a site-responsive event hosted at The Space Between in Plettenberg Bay, alongside a wider body of creative artefacts and a thesis conceived as a creative artefact in itself.
Alongside this work, I am developing Blue Lotus Studio — a home-based creative space where family life, nature, printmaking, and botanical processes meet. I grow and forage many of the flowers I work with, allowing them to become both material and symbol within my practice.
My signature offering is fine art printmaking, with limited-edition releases and nature-rooted floral works. New prints and studio updates will be shared here as the collection continues to unfold.
